Grgich Hills Chardonnay 2011
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
This Chardonnay, which comes from the winery's American Canyon and Carneros vineyards, shows modest alcohol levels. Oak brings toastiness, while malolactic fermentation was avoided to preserve acidity. Flavors veer towards lemon, lime and grapefruit, with riper note of mangoes. It's a dry, elegant wine for drinking now.
Tight and Chablis-like, with a core of lime, grapefruit and flinty green apple notes. Cleansing on the finish. Drink now through 2020. 23,748 cases made.
