Bodegas Caro Aruma 2015
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Aruma is still a blend of Malbec grapes from Altamira and Agelo, with some grapes purchased from growers. It fermented in stainless steel tanks and was bottled unoaked after being kept with the fine lees for some eight months, as it's bottled in different lots, with the last bottling being almost one year after the first, aiming to keep the freshness of the wine. It's juicy, fresh and fruit-driven, clean, with some grapey aromas and contained ripeness. The palate is soft and nicely balanced, easy to drink, and ideal with some light foods.
Wine EnthusiastGrapy aromas of violet petal and blackberry are gritty and earthy. This feels outright tannic and edgy. Herbal, lightly green flavors of roasted black fruits settle on chocolate, spice and more herbs on a powerful but hot finish.
Wine SpectatorCrisp, with notes of white pepper to the red plum and dried cherry flavors. Spicy finish.
