Carignan from multiple parcels ranging from 30 to 106 years old. The wines are meant to be fresh, bright and easy-to-drink; extraction and alcohol remain low, instead the focus is on fruit, minerality and acidity. Most of the wines are initially foot-trodden, then whole clusters are added, resulting in a spontaneous, semi-carbonic maceration. Charivari is 100% carbonic, while Couma àco is aged in concrete and sees a later release. Sulfur additions, if any, are decided each vintage, wine by wine.

Catena Zapata Alta Chardonnay 2014The Catena Alta Chardonnay shows an intense green-yellow color with golden highlights. The nose offers ripe white fruit aromas such as pears and peaches that are interwoven with delicate citrus and floral notes, such as Jasmine. The palate shows rich and concentrated ripe pear, apple and apricot flavors with a light note of minerality. The wine finishes long and complex with crisp, mineral acidity. Pair this full-bodied Chardonnay with full-bodied fish like sockeye salmon and tuna, any dish featuring Mousseline sauce, or an old-school classic like Lobster Thermidor.
Bodegas Juan Gil Monastrell 2014Intense deep red cherry colour. Powerful in nose, clean and complex. Very attractive fruity aromas, touchs of ripe fruit and reminds of new wood. Well-balanced, soft tannins and very long finish. Food pairings: Rice, pasta, (noodles, spaghetti, macaroni), vegetables, mushroom, stewed meat, sausage, pork, roast meat, red and/or white meat with sauces, grilled meat, short or medium cheeses.
Canvasback Cabernet Sauvignon 2014This fragrant wine begins with alluring aromas of blackberry, plum and mountain huckleberry intermingled with brighter notes of Bing cherry and ripe wild strawberry. As it evolves in the glass, layers of anise and sarsaparilla are revealed, alongside hints of caramel and espresso from barrel aging. On the palate, the entry is supple, weighty and rounded, with deliciously ripe tannins and juicy acidity coming together to create a classically structured Cabernet. Underscoring its lush character and fruit intensity is a lovely freshness that carries the wine to a bright, lingering finish.

The aromatics fly out the glass and the flavors linger on the palate with notes of black cherries, ripe raspberries, black currant, violets and crushed rocks all interwoven into this full-bodied and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon. Vibrant acidity adds freshness and compliments the purity of fruit, leading into the long persistent finish.

Venge Scout's Honor 2015This vintage has a gorgeous, concentrated assemblage of aromas of stone fruits, crushed blue herbs, violets, cherry, anise, and a touch of honeysuckle. On the palate is pure richness from the old-vine Zinfandel with loads of super-ripe blackberry, pepper spice, and an enveloping masculinity of char and tannins from the Syrah, Charbono and Petite Sirah. A seamless balance and mouth coating deliciousness are found throughout the palate, with an extra long finish with a touch of barrel tannin at the end. 2015 Scout's Honor is certainly a generous mouthful of red wine that we recommend be opened and enjoyed immediately upon release. Cellared correctly it will age for 5 to 8 years.
Ulacia Txakolina Rose 2016Wine does not have to be complicated. Nowhere is this better demonstrated than in Julian and Maia Ulacia's simple but functional winery above the small fishing port of Getaria, a few kilometres along the coast from San Sebastian. A pneumatic press, two rows of stainless steel tanks and a bottling line. And from the tanks flows pale-coloured, refreshingly dry white wine with a hint of spritz and a vibrant citric bite. Unique, original…and delicious with the local tuna and anchovies. But where Ulacia has the edge over neighbouring producers is the quality, concentration and ripeness achieved in the vineyard, and our blind tastings consistently show Ulacia to be the most intense and most complete of Txacoli wines.

Made predominantly from Best’s own vineyards and meticulously crafted with the same attention to detail as the Icon wines, Bin 1 Shiraz represents the essence of Best’s Great Western winemaking ideals and the uniqueness of the Great Western region. Bin 1 is a classic, cool climate, aromatic Shiraz, made in a style that is perfumed, spicy and peppery, yet well balanced with no overt dominance of alcohol. It’s a great match with food - particularly dishes like spring lamb. Cellaring This vibrant and youthful wine is great to enjoy now with food but will soften and gain complexity over the next 10-15 years. Ideal to drink with a seared Venison ribeye steak and a wild mushroom sauce. Vintage A moderate season with no real hot spells. Very cool nights and warm days ensured the grapes ripened fully but retained all their natural acidity. Quality is very good, but crops were reduced due to the dry weather and spring frosts.

We've made this Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend since 2003, our tribute to the great wines of Bordeaux's Left Bank. We consider The Bard to be the quintessential wine of Realm: a dense, weighty and concentrated wine that year in and year out showcases the very best Cabernet Sauvignon of Napa Valley. Beckstoffer To Kalon and Dr. Crane, Blair Vineyard, Weitz Vineyard, Fortuna Vineyard and Beckstoffer Orchard have all found a place in The Bard. While the composition of the wine varies from year to year, Cabernet Sauvignon typically comprises over 70% of the blend, joined by lesser percentages of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and/or Petit Verdot.

Bodegas y Vinedos Maurodos Prima 2014Prima 2014 Region: Toro D.O. Winery: MAURODOS, BODEGAS Y VINEDOS Grapes: 85% Tinta de Toro, 15% Garnacha Vintage: 2014 Color: Red The grapes for Prima are sourced from vines between 10 and 50 years of age. The vineyards for this wine are growing in sandy-clay soils with gravelly subsoils. Vineyards are trained both en vaso and to wire. The younger estate vines were planted at higher density than existing plantings. This 2014 vintage is uniformed in quantity and quality with balanced phenolic ripeness, aromatic intensity, precise fruit, smooth tannins and well measured aging. Winter was relatively warm, with below average rainfall and rapid bud break. Early flowering in the beginning in June due to a frost-free Spring. Veraison came early and harvesting started September 8th. Harvesting took place for four weeks with perfect weather conditions and occasional storms refreshing the grapes, which had no impact on the health of the fruit. The grapes are harvested by hand with a selection of grapes in the vineyard. The wine is fermented in temperature controlled, conical, stainless steel tanks which allow for caps to naturally be broken very softly during pump overs. The wine was aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels of different ages. Bottled in February 2016.

Aged in and American French oak, it shows massively rich flavors of blackberries and cassis. This medium-bodied wine shows lush mouthfeel, balance and complexity. The ripe, sweet tannins and a touch of toasted oak complete the gentle finish.
