Bernabeleva Camino de Navaherreros 2014
|Region||Vinos de Madrid|
Wine AdvocateThe entry level red is the 2014 Camino de Navaherreros, produced with Garnacha (and less than 10% of Tempranillo) grown on organically farmed vineyards with some 40% to 50% purchased grapes. Fifty percent of full clusters were used for the fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine matured for some seven to eight months in 5,000-liter oak vats. This is the only red from 2014 released now, and it's distinctively different from the rest; it's darker-colored and seems riper, with a mixture of red and black fruit, and zero oak. Even though, it's still quite fresh and jovial, it's only in the comparison with the others where it suffers. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins, great acidity and freshness. This is great value. 35,000 bottles were filled in four different lots.
